SLTC U9 Mini Matthew Langley had a good summer reaching the quarter-finals of the Sussex County Closed at Southdown and narrowly losing out.
Matt also finished 2nd at Southsea (grade 4), and Southdown (grade 5), winning the West Worthing (grade 5) tournament. He also had a fantastic tournament at the Brighton & Hove City Junior Open (grade 3), finishing runner-up to National player Sam Nicholson. This was a great performance with notable wins in a high quality field.
Well done Matt.
Other notable performances at the Brighton & Hove City Open this October half term included Dominic Fritche and Preston Park partner Tommy Cartilage cruising to the Boys U14 doubles title. The now established partnership and number 2 seeds, won the event with the loss of only 6 games in 3 matches.
Meanwhile SLTC 1st team player, Sam Venn also had a good week reaching the U16 Semi-finals and U18 Final eventually losing to No.1 seed Brooks Allan 6-2, 6-2.
